| The Minigun |
HotKey 0 - The MiniGun uses the
same bullets as the AutoMag, so watch out you don't
unexpectedly drain the ammo for one with the other.
The MiniGun is much faster than the AutoMag, and it
is even faster in secondary mode. You can empty all
200 rounds in just a few seconds if you are not careful.

| The Weapons |
You acquire your weapons one at
a time during the game. As you get each weapon, take
some time to become familiar with its operation. Each
weapon has at least two modes of firing, and you will
do better if you know which mode to use in what situation.
Another important aspect of using your weapons is
to watch the supply of ammo. If a gun is at full charge
on ammo, that should be your weapon, if it can be
used. You want to be a little bit low on all weapons
rather than full on some and empty on others. This
is so that you will be able to pick up any ammo that
you find, and you will still be able to use a special
weapon if needed. Along with this idea, you should
always use the Disruption Pistol, which recharges
by itself, whenever you can. Be sure to rest in a
safe spot if it ever gets below half full. |
| The Nali |
As you travel through Unreal's many
levels, you will encounter hordes of monsters, and
many Nali Priests. The Nali Priests, who are not very
durable, need your protection to survive. Whenever
you hear their distinctive chant, save your game right
away. As you approach a Nali, he will generally take
off, and run to some secret area to give you a treasure.
Almost all the time, there will be some horrible creature
lurking there, waiting to kill the Nali on sight,
thus cheating you out of your treasure. The only way
to save the Nali is to race past him, and beat him
to the monster. Once there, rapidly take out the monster
without hurting the Nali in the cross fire. Once the
monster is dead, head back to the Nali, and let him
see you are there next to him, so he will start toward
the secret room or treasure. If you fail, reload your
saved game and try it again. It is often worth the
effort. If you do a good job of protecting the Nali,
you will get many items that you could not otherwise
get, and pick up many weapons earlier than you could
without their help. |

| Avoid Flying Creatures
|
Instead of waiting to kill the flying
creatures after they attack you, take out the pistol
and shoot them when you first see them in the sky.
