This is simply a walkthrough that covers the main quests and missions of a roleplaying character in order to get you to the next towns, and eventually beat the game. This walkthrough does _NOT_ cover the many, many side quests of guild wars (although I recommend doing at least 2-3 side quests per town). It does _NOT_ give tips on building your character or for playing PvP, etc. It is just simply a walkthrough. First off, notice the compass in the top right hand corner? I'll be giving almost all of my directions based on that compass. N is north, E is east, well you know the rest. So head Northeast. You should notice a person with an ! mark on top off their head. This means they want to talk to you, presumably because they have a quest for you. Talk to the person (Town Crier). Accept the quest. O-------------------------------------------O |Ascalon City - Message from a Friend (ACMF)| O-------------------------------------------O Just go northeast towards the green star on the mini map. You'll see Sir Tydus. Talk to him and accept the reward (100 exp, 10 gold). O--------------------------------------O |Ascalon City - War Prepeartions (ACWP)| O--------------------------------------O Accept the next quest Sir Tydus gives you. Then head northeast towards the warp on your mini map. This is the town exit. Once in Lakeside County, talk to the trainer standing infront of you. The trainer varies on your class. Accept the reward (250 exp). O-------------------------------------O |Lakeside County - (class) Test (LCCT)| O-------------------------------------O The name of this quest varies on your character class. For a ranger, it'll be Ranger Test. For a monk, Monk test, etc. --Warrior (CTWA)-- Go southwest along the road untill you meet some Skales. Defeat them and then head back to Van the Warrior (the trainer) for your reward (500 exp, Frenzy (Skill), Healing Signet (Skill)). --Ranger (CTRA)-- Head southwest along the path and down the hill and into the river. Defeat the River Skale Queen and then return to Artemis the Ranger for your reward (500 exp, Power Shot (skill), Troll Urgent (skill)). --Monk (CTMO)-- Head southwest along the path. Then go down the hill and into the river. Defeat all the Skales in your way. Then talk to Gwen and head back to Ciglo the Monk for your reward (500 exp, Healing Breeze (skill), Banish (skill)). --Elementalist (CTEL)-- Head along the road southwest. If you see and River Skale Tads, defeat them and pick up a shimmering skale (if they drop one). If not, continue on and defeat them untill they drop one. Then head back to Howand the Elementalist for your reward (500 exp, Flare (skill), Aura of Restoration (skill)). --Necromancer (CTNE)-- Go south into the river and slay a Skale. Then Return to Verata the Necromancer for your reward (500 exp, Vampiric Gaze (skill), Deathly Swarm (skill)) --Mesmer (CTME)-- Go southwest along the road untill you meet some Skales. Defeat them and then head back to Sebedoh the Mesmer (the trainer) for your reward (500 exp, Empathy (Skill), Ether Feast (Skill)) O-------------------------------------------O |Lakeside County - Further Adventures (LCFA)| O-------------------------------------------O Talk to Haversdan, a warrior who should be standing nearby the trainer. Accept the quest he offers you. Head southwest along the path. Defeat the worms that get in your way, or you can just walk past them if they go into the ground. Eventually you should reach an intersection at the top off a hill. Take the southern path. Soon enough, you'll come to another intersection, take the southwestern path (NOT the bridge path). Eventually you'll reach Devona. Accept the reward (250 exp). O------------------------------------------O |Lakeside County - Unsettling Rumors (LCUS)| O------------------------------------------O Accept the next quest Devona offers you. Then head back northeast along the path. When you reach the bridge intersection, go north. Once you reach the hilltop intersection, head north down the path and into Ashford Abbey. Enter Ashford Abbey and talk to Meerak the Scribe, the guy with the ! on his head. Talk to him about your quest (Unsettling Rumors). Once thats done, press M to bring up your map. Then click on Ascalon City and select Travel to go there. Or you can take the long route back if you want, for extra exp. Once back in Ascalon City, head southeast up the path and talk to Armin Saberlin. Accept the reward (250 exp, Tall Shield (4 armor)). O-----------------------------------------O |Ascalon City - A Second Proffesion (ACSP)| O-----------------------------------------O Accept the next quest Armin Saberlin offers you. Then pick the proffesion you want as your secondary proffesion. You must now do a quest to earn this proffesion. The quest varies on the proffesion you choose to be your secondary. If you change your mind about which secondary proffesion you want, talk to Armin Saberlin again. Talk about your quest (A Second Proffesion) and then pick the class you want. --(Warrior) Grawl Invasion (SPWA)-- Leave Ascalon City and head northwest at the path split directly outside of town. Continue along the path, pass Gate Gaurd Torin and continue untill you reach Green Hills County. Just to the west of you is Warmaster Grast. Now continue west along the path, past Grazden the Protector and Kasha Blackblood. Defeat all the enemies you encounter along the way untill you reach the green star on the map. If you get a message saying quest log has been updated, head back to Warmaster Grast. If not, you've missed some of the enemies, so go around and search for them untill you get the message. Tell him you a certain to become a warrior and you've got yourself a secondary proffesion. Return to Ascalon and talk to Armin Saberlin. --(Ranger) The Ranger's Companinion (SPRA)-- Leave Ascalon City and head southwest along the path (despite the fact that the arrow is pointing the other way). When you come to the path split ontop off a hill, head along the southern path. When you come to an intersection with a bridge, head southeast and cross the bridge. Continue along the path. Eventually you should come to another bridge. This one is the entrance to Regent Valley. Follow the path untill you find Master Ranger Nente. Talk to him and accept the quest. Continue along the path untill you find one of Melandru's Stalker. Use charm animal (a skill you got from Master Ranger Nente) on it. Then head back to Master Ranger Nente. Tell him you're ready to become a ranger and you've got yourself a secondary proffesion. Return to Ascalon and talk to Armin Saberlin. --(Monk) (SPMO)-- ..coming soon.. (*NOTE TO SELF: Cannot do this because my primary is a monk*) --(Elementalist) The Elementalist Experiment (SPEL)-- First, travel to Ashford Abbey then take the exit into Lakeside Country. As soon as you exit town, take a direct turn on the path and head south. Go down the hill and continue along. Eventually you should come to a path fork with an ascalon villager, ascalon gaurd and Chantaalle the Troubadour nearby. Take the path south up the hill and into the entrance to Wizard's Folly. Once in Wizard's Folly, continue the following the path southwest. Eventually you should come into a snow mountainish region. You'll see an entrance to Foible's Fair just to the north, however do NOT go in there. Continue along the path, south up the mountain and then northwest when you come to a turn and then southwest again. If you ever get lost due to my directions sucking, just follow the arrow. Anyways, eventually you should meet up with Elementalist Aziure. Then a bunch of ice monsters will attack you, defeat them and then talk to Elementalist Aziure again. Return to Ascalon and talk to Armin Saberlin. --(Necromancer) The Necromancer's Novice (SPNE)-- First, travel to Ashford Abbey then take the western entrance into The Catacombs. Just to the north of you, you should see Necromancer Munne, talk to him and accept the quest. Then follow him down the stairs and then into the cavern. At the intersefction go northwest (instead of west). Just follow Necromancer Munne if you are confused. Then when you come to a big room, go north in the first entrance then Necromancer Munne will stop and you'll be on your own. Continue down the stairs and defeat the Carrion Devourers. Then head down the stairs to the west. Becareful of the Flame Geyser trap ahead. Use animate bone horror (which you should of recieved) to summon a bone horror, which will activate the trap on itself. Once it dies, continue on. Then just to the north you will see the Tomb Nightmare, but ifrst theres another Flame Geyser. Summon another bone horror, let it activate the trap on itself, then continue on. Defaat the Tomb Nightmare and then either walk all the way back or teleport to Ashford Abbey and then re-enter The Catacombs and talk to Necromancer Munne to become a necromancer as a secondary proffesion. Return to Ascalon and talk to Armin Saberlin. --(Mesmer) A Mesmer's Burden (SPME)-- Leave Ascalon City and head northwest at the path split directly outside of town. Eventually you should reach a theatre with Lady Althea standing right outside it. Talk to her to get this quest. From there head mainly west but a bit too the south (follow the arrow) untill you reach a pond. Once you reach the pond, defeat the Rogue Bull. Now return to Lady Althea and then tell her you're ready to become a Mesmer and you've got yourself a secondary proffesion. Return to Ascalon and talk to Armin Saberlin. O---------------------------------------O |Ascalon City - The Path to Glory (ACGP)| O---------------------------------------O Armin Saberlin will offer you this quest after finishing a secondary proffesion. Accept it, then talk to Sir Tydus (whos just to the north of Armin) for a free 100 exp. If you want to do any more side quests in pre-searing, tell Tydus you aren't ready and do them now then come back to Tydus and tell him you're ready. You'll now be put in your first mission. You'll be randomly put on a team and have to battle another team. I'm not sure what the point of it is. Because even if you loose you still go on. You have to kill the opponents as many times as possible. You have 2 minutes to dight. O--------------------------------O |Ascalon Academy (mission) (ASAM)| O--------------------------------O Once its over, head down the path and wait for Prince Rurik and Sir Tydus to finish there conversation. Then head down the stairs and down the path. Follow the path into a cave. Defeat all the grawls and head northwest around the first corner. Continue following the straight foward path untill you find Vatalaww Doomtooth. Defeat him and his grawl companions and then watch the cutscene (or skip it). Head foward and talk to Captain Osric. Accept the quest and then follow the arrow to Ascalon City. Once in Ascalon talk to Sir Tydus (who can be found in the northern part of town) for a reward and then go up the stairs to the north of Sir Tydus and then head to the east. When the path turns, go northeast and then enter The Great Northern Wall. O----------------------------------------O |The Great Northern Wall (mission) (TGNW)| O----------------------------------------O ...to be continued...
