This guide may only be distributed and/or posted in it's original format. If you wish to post or use excerpts from this guide, PLEASE ask for my permission before doing so (especially if you work for a magazine or website). A lot of time and effort was spent putting this thing together and that should be taken into consideration. And remember..... "Respect is everything." Besides, contacting me will also give me an opportunity to hook up and talk shop with fellow San Andreas "thuggers"..... 0---------------------------------------------------------------------------0 As for my game progress, I am now sitting at 100% Completion. Finally, I have finished up the guide. I will now move onto other projects before going back to do some revisioning. 0---------------------------------------------------------------------------0 0====================0 | Additional Sources | 0====================0 --Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Local Business Advertiser's Guide (Game Manual) --Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas Official Strategy Guide (by Tim Bogenn and Rick Barba - for BradyGames). --GameFAQs San Andreas Message Board --(The Chadness - "Reuniting The Families" Exploit) --(TheLegendaryOne - Chiliad Challenge Exploit) --Vehicle Location Map by GamerLady 0==========================0 | Additional Contributions | 0==========================0 --glenJammin 0================================0 | Other Documents I Have Written | 0================================0 X=======================================================================X | "Grand Theft Auto 3" Walkthrough (Strategy Guide) | |=======================================================================| | "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" Walkthrough (Strategy Guide) | |=======================================================================| | Differences Between The Three Versions Of "Grand Theft Auto: Vice | | City" for PlayStation 2 (FAQ) | |=======================================================================| | "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" Suggested Music List FAQ (Xbox and PC) | | (currently hosted by IGN.com) | |=======================================================================| | "The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay" Walkthrough | | (Strategy Guide) | X=======================================================================X All trademarks and copyrights contained in this document are owned by their respective trademark and copyright holders. ***************************************************************************** /==XX====XX====XX====XX====XX====X##***##X====XX====XX====XX====XX====XX==\ 0===XX====XX====XX====XX====XX====X##***##X====XX====XX====XX====XX====XX===0 | Table of Contents | 0===XX====XX====XX====XX====XX====0##***##0====XX====XX====XX====XX====XX===0 \==XX====XX====XX====XX====XX====X##***##X====XX====XX====XX====XX====XX==/ /XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\ 0=========================================0 | A. Who Am I? | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ My name is Robert Allen Rusk and I am a 37-year old hardcore gamer with about 28 years of gaming experience. I am an ex-gametester (Broderbund Software, LucasArts Games, Point Of View Computing) and an ex-arcade attendant (Namco Cyberstation - Pier 39, San Francisco, CA). I also own multiple systems such as the Sega Dreamcast, Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Atari Jaguar, PlayStation 1, Xbox, and, of course, the PS2. I currently work at JCPenneys at one of the malls here in San Antonio, TX. Retail isn't the best job in the world but JCPenneys is a very stable company unlike some of the other places I have worked for in the past like internet service providers or web programming companies. I am also a member of the X-Otic Computer Systems of San Antonio (www.xcssa.org), a group who specializes in Linux, Mac, and other systems. It is here that you can see some of my RGB hack work in the photos section. /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | A.2. My Setup | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ This guide was written using BBEdit Lite 6.1 and a Power Mac Workgroup Server 8550/200 (with a G3 card running at 330 MHz). I view my work in Netscape 4.7.9, Netscape 7, and Internet Explorer 5.1.5 to help in seeing how it would look on the web and correcting format errors. Nowadays when I do my revisions I play San Andreas on a Commodore 1084S RGB monitor using a homebrew RGB box that contains a EL1883 sync separation chip which is MacroVision compatible. This allows me to watch my movies in RGB Analog, like "The Matrix", without the MacroVision copy protection signal getting in the way. My box also contains a Sony CXA-1145 RGB chip (plus surrounding motherboard cut from a Sega Genesis - crude but effective) for amplification. I ran my Mac alongside the PS2 (or Xbox) using a NEC MultiSync 3D monitor. This way I can simultaneously play and make changes to the guide at the same time. The NEC MultiSync 3D is an older monitor capable of doing 15KHz RGB (which is the same scan rate as a standard television) but can do 640x480 VGA (480p RGB Analog) which is good for my Mac (and Sega Dreamcast). When I want to watch my movies in RGB Analog, I use the Commodore 1084S monitor. This is because of composite-sync-on-green problems between the PS2 and the MultiSync 3D. The reasons are long and technical so I won't bore you with the details. But watching movies in pristine RGB Analog is great. "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" (Extended Version) looks fantastic in RGB. So does my Godzilla movies, "Red vs. Blue", "The Matrix", etc..... At the time of this revision I have 14 memory cards for my PlayStation 2. I have recently reorganized the game saves on my memory cards and I now have eight cards specifically dedicated to GTA3 and Vice City (Original Version (1.40) and San Andreas. /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | A.3. From The Author | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ Welcome to my Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas guide! This is the beta version of the guide and it will be filled in with more info as the document is updated. If this is the first time you have visited, you will find a lot of useful information in a highly organized format that you can use to beat all of the missions here in the Los Santos area. Quotes taken from readers' e-mail are presented "as is" and may include spelling and grammatical errors. When I first posted my initial version of my Vice City guide in 2003, I did not know how well it would go over and how many people would respond. I wasn't exactly swamped with e-mail but I do get letters from time to time. Sometimes people would ask for advice and others would say how cool the guide is. All it takes is for one person to say how good and useful your guide is to make it all worthwhile. I want to thank GameFAQs for creating a place where such documents can be hosted for the benefit of all gamers. I also want to thank IGN.com, NeoSeeker.com, TheVGNation.com, GameHelper.com, and many other sites for their generosity in hosting my other work on their sites. I also want to thank everybody who has taken the time to download and read this guide. I love this game and I wanted to share my creative ideas with fellow San Andreas "thuggers". And, of course, I want to give a special thanks to all those who have taken the time to write to me and tell me what you thought, make suggestions, and ask questions. With that said, let's get down to business shall we?..... /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | A.4. About The Guide | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ The main emphasis of this guide is to provide creative and simple solutions to many of the missions of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. While there are some references to the Brady Games Official Strategy Guide, I have decided to forego using their maps (and the numbering system they use). This is mainly because of the large number of errors in the book and to reduce any potential copyright problems. I am trying my own numbering system for the Photo-Op, Graffiti Tag, Oyster, and Horseshoe maps. I start at the north and work my way south going from east to west. So number 1 will be at the northernmost part of the map and number 50 or 100 will be at the southernmost part. I have worked hard to make sure that this guide is as complete as possible but at the same time leave room for exploration. I hope that you enjoy this guide as much as learn from it. This guide is designed to help you achieve 100% Completion within San Andreas. Stuff that doesn't directly contribute to it won't be covered in the guide. This is mainly to keep things managable as I write this guide. Stuff that won't be covered are Girlfriends (although Gifts are listed in the Weapons and Other Items section), basketball playing, and (surprisingly enough) Unique Stunt Jumps. Because of the large size of San Andreas each major section of the guide (Section B, Section C, and Section D) will have their own Weapon, BarberShop, Restaurant, and Clothes Shop lists. Another emphasis of this guide is ORDER. If you do the missions and tasks in a certain order, the game will be easier and more fun for you. You don't absolutely have to do them in the EXACT order I have them listed but as you read the guide you will see how it benefitted me. The Graffiti Tags and Oysters are also used as landmarks to help in directing you around the city for some of your objectives. Also, each Graffiti Tag, Oyster, Photo-Op, and Horseshoe has a letter designation to make them easier to identify in this guide..... Graffiti Tags (Los Santos) will be identified with an "T". Examples: Graffiti Tag T21. Tag T32. T65. Oysters (San Andreas) will be identified with an "Y". Examples: Oyster Y34. Y16. Photo-Ops (San Fierro) will be identified with a "P". Examples: Photo-Op P27. P48. Horseshoes (Las Venturas) will be identified with a "H". Examples: Horseshoe H18. H37. /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | A.5. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ What can I say? Rockstar has done it again. They have completely blown my expectations out of the water with San Andreas. San Andreas is much, much larger than GTA3 and Vice City combined with many more things to do whether you want to get 100% Completion or not. There are even more vehicles to play with including earthmovers, tractors, biplanes, jets, street sweepers, and even trains. The one major criticism I have for this game is that they seem to have given us too much of a good thing. Of course, there are a lot of companies that would love to have that kind of criticism. /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | A.7. Controls | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ Although the manual covers the setup pretty good, I felt that I should include a section on controls for those who have gotten used copies of San Andreas that have no manuals. Because of many of the buttons have multiple uses I have had to reformat how I list the controls for San Andreas as compared to what I did for my GTA3 and Vice City guides. 0=========0 | On Foot | 0=========0 Move Around ************ --Left Analog Stick. Stats | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ One of the major things that has been added to the GTA series is something called Stats. Stats adds an RPG element to your character and there are many things that you can change to make your character better (or worse). Most of the upgrades to your Stats are permanent although some can change one way or the other depending on certain physical activities. /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | A.9. Fat and Muscle Stats | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ Two of the Stats that will change most often is the Fat and Muscle Stats. If you eat a lot of meals and don't do any physical activities you will get pudgy. This will negatively impact your ability to run and jump plus people will make unflattering comments about you. In addition, the stuff CJ says will change. For example, he will say things like "Lunch money", "This should help keep my belly full", and "I'm gonna spend this on a good meal" when he picks up money. If you get a 100% Fat Stat CJ will be obese. You can change this by doing physical activities like bicycling or working out at the local Gym. When working out at the Gym you can change the Fat into Muscle. If you work out at the Gym long enough you can make CJ really buffed and ripped. But this too will negatively impact your ability to run and jump but people will look more positively upon you (especially the ladies). You can burn off the Fat without building Muscle. You can do things like swimming and bicycling to do this. Once you burn off the Fat, however, you will then start burning off the Muscle until CJ is skinny again. If you want to keep CJ with some degree of muscular build you will have to balance eating and working out. /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | A.10. Eating and Food | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ Another thing you will need to do during the course of the game is to eat. If you go too long without eating you will get hungry and start to lose energy. However, you lose energy very slowly so even if you are out in the middle of nowhere you can easily go and get food without starving to death. And you don't even have to eat a lot either. A simple snack will do to keep from going hungry. Eating is the only way to get your Health back up to it's current maximum. There are very few Health Icons this time unlike in GTA3 and Vice City. If you wish to make CJ muscular you will need to eat large amounts of large meals to get Fat so you can go to the Gym to convert it into Muscle. Eat too many meals in one day however (about 11), and he will throw up. You can also eat meals that can keep you from going hungry but without adding to your Fat. Foods like Salads and Snacks (and Drinks). There are three types of restaurants in San Andreas: --The Well Stacked Pizza Co. --Cluckin' Bell --Burger Shot There are four meals you can choose from in each place: --Small Meal (adds a little bit of Fat) --Medium Meal (adds a little more Fat than the Small Meal) --Large meal (has the most Fat) --Salad meal (has no Fat) All of the restaurants listed above are opened during and after "Ryder" (Carl Johnson). Their locations will be listed in each major section of the guide. They will also have icons on your in-game map for easy location. There are also Snack and Sprunk Machines spread throughout San Andreas that you can use to keep from going hungry. They are open from the beginning of the game and their locations will be listed in each major section of the guide. /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | A.11. Stamina, Lung Capacity, and Health | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ Three other physical Stats that can be changed (but will be permanent) is the Stamina, Lung Capacity, and Health Stats. Increasing your Stamina will allow you to sprint longer on foot, in the water, and on bike. There is no Infinite Run feature this time so it would be wise to increase your Stamina as soon as possible. Fortunately, increasing your Stamina doesn't take a whole lot of time so you can do things, like looking for Oysters, to increase your Stamina prior to doing the Main Story Missions without it taking forever. Increasing your Lung Capacity will allow you to stay underwater for long periods of time. This is very helpful for acquiring Oysters and exploration. Swimming underwater a lot will gradually increase your Lung Capacity Stat. Over the course of doing physical activities you may also see your Health Stat increase. This increases your maximum health and you will see the Health Bar lengthen slightly. This takes a bit longer to maximize than the Stamina Stat but you can do this quickly by completing the Ambulance Mission since you can max out your Health Stat by successfully finishing it (although it might be wise to upgrade your Driving Skill a bit before trying the Ambulance Mission). /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | A.12. Respect | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ "Respect is everything" went the tagline for GTA2. And it is back again for San Andreas. Having respect will allow you to easily recruit gang members for various activities, getting Girlfriends, and will impact how people look at you. Things that change your Respect are as follows: --Getting better clothes. --Killing cops and rival gang members. --Progressing through the Main Story Missions. --Doing certain Side-Missions. /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | A.13. Clothes and Clothes Stores | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ In San Andreas you can change clothes to change how you look in the game just like in Vice City. Unlike Vice City, however, you can change your appearance in more ways than you can imagine. You can change shirts, pants, you can go topless (if you have the muscles you want to show off), you can wear necklaces, change shoes, wear hats, etc. Getting better clothes is one way to increase your Respect (as explained above) and increases your chances of getting a Girlfriend (if you wish to pursue one). In San Andreas, there are several places where you can get new clothes once you have opened up the stores: 0=======0 | Binco | 0=======0 Opened: After "Nines and AK's" (Sweet Johnson). Motto: "More trash for less cash." Notes: A budget clothes shop that looks like a thrift store more than anything else. But you can get some decent clothes here, just not very stylish clothes. This is where you can get green clothes for representing Grove Street. 0=========0 | ProLaps | 0=========0 Opened: After "Nines and AK's" (Sweet Johnson). Motto: "Train Hard." Notes: A sports clothes shop where you can get anything from expensive sneakers to team jerseys. A lot of gangbangers like to wear sports related stuff. You can gain additional respect with certain items here. 0==========0 | SubUrban | 0==========0 Opened: After "Nines and AK's" (Sweet Johnson). Motto: "...come to where it's apparently at." Notes: A trendy hip-hop clothes shop. Most of the clothes are based on what the hot music acts are wearing. Additional respect can be gained by use of some of the items here. 0=====0 | Zip | 0=====0 Opened: After "Are You Going To San Fierro?" (The Truth). Motto: "Clothing to get your teeth into." Notes: A mid-range clothes shop. Better than Binco but not as good as the others. 0========0 | Victim | 0========0 Opened: After "Learning To Fly" (Completion of Flight School). Motto: "To die for." Notes: A high class and expensive clothes shop. Clothes based on the rich fashion styles can be bought here. A lot of respect can be bought here too. 0==============0 | Didier Sachs | 0==============0 Opened: After "Saint Mark's Bistro" (Caligula's Palace). Motto: "For those with discriminating taste." Notes: A high class and expensive clothes shop. The best of everything can be bought here. You can gain the most respect by shopping here. Of course, you'll also spend the most money but prestige doesn't come cheap. /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | A.14. Haircuts, Tattoos, and Sex Appeal | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ You can also change hairstyles too. You open up the BarberShops when you do "Ryder" (Carl Johnson). There a quite a few hairstyles you can choose from but you can probably get the best results (in terms of increasing your Respect) from getting the most expensive style. Another way to change appearance is to get tattooed (no, not that kind of tattooed although I don't think you can get drunk or stoned in this game). No, I mean as in ink. Usually the more expensive and elaborate tattoos will be the ones that will increase your Respect the most. These shops open after doing "Ryder" (Carl Johnson). Changing your appearance will not only increase (or decrease) your Respect but will also change your Sex Appeal. The higher your Sex Appeal, the greater your chances of getting a Girlfriend (if you want one). You can also change your Sex Appeal by getting into a better car as well. A good, solid, pimped-out car will really jack up your Sex Appeal (along with good appearance). /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | A.15. Weapon Skill and Easy Upgrading | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ Another thing that needs to be mentioned is Weapon Skill. Some of the weapons you can use during the game have skills that can be upgraded. When you first pick up a upgradable weapon it doesn't feel all that special. But when you reach Gangster Weapon Skill Level with it, you will see an improvement like being able to move while aiming and shooting plus longer range. When you reach Hitman Weapon Skill Level you will have reached the weapon's maximum skill. When Hitman Weapon Skill Level is reached on certain weapons you can then duel-wield them, one to a hand, allowing you to inflict a lot more damage. You can find out how far you have upgraded a weapon by pressing the L1 button to see your stats. You can also go into the Stats menu to see the specific point level of your current weapon. The upgradable weapons have three rankings: Poor, Gangster, and Hitman. Each weapon has a maximum skill point level of 1,000. When you reach 1,000 skill points on a weapon you will achieve Hitman Level. You can generally reach Gangster Level at about 200 skill points. The fastest and easiest way to upgrade your Weapon Skill Levels is to do the following: First, get a lot of ammo for the weapon you wish to upgrade. Next, grab a car and head for either the large flood control channel or deep into the wilderness. Get out of your car and switch to the weapon you wish to upgrade. Next, aim at one of the car's tires and plug away. The tire counts as a target and you can't destroy the car by just shooting at the tire itself. This works wonders plus you don't get hassled by either rival gang members or the cops. I recommend upgrading the SubMachine Gun class first since that is probably the type of gun you'll end up using the most. It won't take long either. /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | A.16. Law Enforcement | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ The main enemies in "Grand Theft Auto 3" and "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City" are the Police. They were fairly aggressive but stupid and predictable. They were also fun to mess around with like playing demolition derby with them at the 4-Star Wanted Rating. In San Andreas, however, that's all changed. Here the cops are FAR more aggressive and intelligent. Even at the lowest wanted level they will take cover, block your physical attacks, and even shoot at you. In other words, playtime's over. Now things get serious when dealing with the law. They even have more vehicles (details a little later) including Motorcycle Cops who will shoot at your car to try to slow you down if they are chasing you. When you do something bad near a cop, like mugging a person, one of the stars at the bottom of the HUD will light up indicating a Wanted Level. The cops will then try to bust you. The more stars you have, the more aggressive they will be. There are several ways to get rid of a wanted rating..... X=========================================================================X | Hiding out somewhere for a bit (depending on what you've done, this | | will work for up to 4-Stars). | |=========================================================================| | Getting a Police Bribe Icon (drops the level down a notch). | |=========================================================================| | Completing the current mission (if you get a rating during one). | |=========================================================================| | Getting busted or wasted. | |=========================================================================| | Driving a car (excluding rescue and most police vehicles) into a Pay N' | | Spray. | X=========================================================================X There are six wanted levels. The higher you go, the more aggressive the pursuit. Below are the six Wanted Ratings and what you can expect..... 0========0 | 1-Star | 0========0 You are of mild interest to the cops. They will chase you on foot and will whack you with their nightsticks when close enough. They will chase you for some distance on foot unless you get a car and make a fast getaway. If you attack a cop with your Fist or Melee Weapon a nearby cop may shoot at you. When fleeing in a car, Motorcycle Cops may shoot at you to try to get you to stop. Hiding out somewhere for awhile will get rid of a 1-Star rating but may take awhile depending on what you've done. 0========0 | 2-Star | 0========0 Things get a bit more serious here. The number of cops increase a bit and they will start shooting you instead of whacking you with their clubs. Motorcycle Cops will shoot at your car to try to stop you. You may be able to wait things out in a safe area but this may take a long time depending on your crimes. 0========0 | 3-Star | 0========0 More cops will join the fray and a helicopter will start pursuing you and will shoot at you if you stand still long enough for it to do so. The cops become more fearless and will stand in the open shooting at you in an attempt to stop you. Don't be surprised to find several cops standing there using you as target practice if you poke your head out of a safe area. Your best bet to get rid of a 3-Star Wanted Rating is to use a Pay N' Spray. 0========0 | 4-Star | 0========0 Now a second helicopter and the SWAT team joins in. They will try to blockade the road with their Enforcers and rappel down from the helicopter. They are heavily armed with powerful submachine guns will make quick work of your vehicle when encountering a SWAT roadblock. I've had a many as eight cops standing in the open taking shots at me (and making the most of them) at 4-Star. If you're in a aircraft, you will be shot at by missiles and be chased by fighter jets. This is the highest wanted level you can obtain while confined to Los Santos. 0========0 | 5-Star | 0========0 Now the FBI joins the pursuit with their FBI Ranchers. You can achieve this rating after the mission "Farewell, My Love..." (Cesar Vialpando). There is a Stat for how long you can maintain a chase with a 5-Star Wanted Rating. 0========0 | 6-Star | 0========0 The Army finally gets in on the fun here. They will come with Flatbeds and Rhinos and will kill you on sight. Considering how aggressive the cops are in San Andreas your chances for survival with a 6-Star Wanted Rating for more than a few seconds are very slim and probably none. /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | A.17. Exploration and Unwelcome Areas | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ In both GTA3 and GTA:VC there were roadblocks that kept you confined to a certain area of the city until you passed a particular mission in which case one of them would be removed. Of course, they could be easily circumvented by a variety of means so you could explore the rest of the city and obtain items which could be used in the early stages of the game to make things easier on yourself. With the swimming element introduced in San Andreas you can very easily get around the roadblocks that are supposed to keep you confined to Los Santos. However, Rockstar inplemented something that will make you think twice about leaving Los Santos early. When you cross the water and enter an Unwelcome Area (like Las Venturas) you will be hit with a 4-Star Wanted Rating. As I've noted, this is a difficult Wanted Rating to deal with. Worse still, Pay N' Sprays, Police Bribes, and even the Lower Wanted Level cheats WILL NOT work while in an Unwelcome Area. That's right. You're stuck with it until you go back to where you came from so you can get rid of it. However, more than likely you will end up going back in a body bag because of the very aggressive Police. This also makes early exploration of an area very difficult. However, because of the huge size of San Andreas, being confined to Los Santos really isn't a Bad Thing. The Los Santos / Red County area is much larger than Vice City with plenty of area to explore. San Andreas is also easier to deal with when you just focus on one area at a time instead of trying to absorb it all at once. But you can swim around these Unwelcome Areas without getting a 4-Star Wanted Rating as long as you don't make landfall. The only exceptions are an area on the west side of Los Santos Inlet and the area around the Aircraft Carrier at San Fierro. I used this to my advantage when collecting Oysters at the beginning part of the game. You can also fly around in the open water all around the San Andreas area without getting the 4-Star Wanted Rating as long as you don't fly over land. I also used this to my advantage. You can still do some of the challenges and tasks in the Unwelcome Areas but the 4-Star Wanted Rating will make them much more difficult. I'll explain that later also. But there is a way to easily explore Unwelcome Areas early without Wanted Ratings. There is an exploit that happens during the mission "Reuniting The Families" (Sweet Johnson) that allows you to fully explore San Andreas without any interference. I'll go more into detail about that when I get to that mission. /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | A.18. Police Vehicles | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ Like in GTA3, you can also grab Police Vehicles and use them in Vigilante Missions. And there are a lot of Police Vehicles you can use for that purpose. Below is the list of police vehicles you may encounter in Los Santos..... X===========================================================================X | Police Car (found anywhere in Los Santos. Bonus: you get 5 Shotgun shells | | when entering one (if you don't already have a Shotgun you can get a | | Shotgun with 5 shells.)) | |===========================================================================| | HPV-1000 Police Motorcycle | |===========================================================================| | SWAT Enforcer (at 4-Star Wanted Rating. Bonus: you can get Body Armor | | when entering an Enforcer.) | |===========================================================================| | Police Rancher (in Red County. You can also get Shotgun ammo by getting | | in one). | |===========================================================================| | FBI Rancher (at 5-Star Wanted Rating) | |===========================================================================| | FBI Truck (at 5-Star Wanted Rating) | |===========================================================================| | S.W.A.T. (has a Water Cannon to disperse rioters) | |===========================================================================| | Barracks (at 6-Star Wanted Rating) | |===========================================================================| | Rhino (at 6-Star Wanted Rating) | X===========================================================================X When in a Police Vehicle, press R3 to begin a Vigilante Mission. You will be prompted to chase and destroy a selected target, which is another car. You have to kill all the criminals in the car before moving onto the next level. Sometimes, if you damage the criminal's car enough, the criminals may exit the car to confront you. Drive-by or run them over to get rid of them. The higher you go up the levels, the more criminals you will have to deal with (up to a maximum of three cars per level). In San Andreas, at later levels of the Vigilante Mission, the criminals will shoot at you from their cars while you are chasing them. After completing Level 12, you will be rewarded with a permanent increase in your armor (going up to 150 maximum). The Hunter, unlocked later in the game, is definitely the best vehicle to use for the Vigilante Missions although using the Cop Motorcycle is also a good way to do this mission (more details later). /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | A.19. Driving and Bike Skills | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ When you first start the game and enter a car you will see that the car might not handle too well. This is not neccessarily because of the car itself but because it is that you don't have any Driving Skill. The more you drive around in a car, the more you increase your Driving Skill. The higher your Driving Skill, the better the car begins to handle (although that is open for debate). I should note that it takes a very long time to max out your Driving Skill but you can speed that up by doing the Driving School which opens up later in the game. The same principle goes for Bike (Motorcycle) Skill. The more you ride around on a Motorcycle, the better the handling. In addition, you won't fall off as easily when struck. Maxing out your Bike Skill doesn't take nowhere near as long as does the Driving Skill but it will take some time to do. You may want to max out your Bike Skill first if you want to do the Vigilante Mission on the Cop Motorcycle. /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | A.20. Cycling Skill | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ In San Andreas you can now use Bicycles. Bicycles also have skills that can be upgraded. The more you ride a bike, the better you become. The better your Cycling Skill, the less likely you will fall off by going backwards. You will also increase your ability to do Bunny-Hops which is jumping with your bike straight up in the air. When you max out your Cycling Skill you can do very high Bunny-Hops. It is best to max out your Cycling Skill before doing the BMX Challenge in Los Santos. /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | A.21. Flying Skill, the Shamal, and Skydiving | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ The last vehicle stat that can be upgraded is the Flying Skill. As before, the more you fly a plane, the better your skill becomes. When you reach about 20% through maxing your Flying Skill, you will get your Pilot's License and the gates to the runways to all three airports will open and you will have an easier time getting to an airplane. You can increase your Flying Skill quickly by doing the Pilot School which is opened up later in the game. You can still upgrade your Flying Skill while still confined in Los Santos. What you need to do is get a car and go near the runway gate near the pink and green Nude Shop in El Corona. Get against the wall and climb on top of the car then climb the wall. Then go around the chain-link fences and go to the west end of the airport where you will see a jet (the Shamal). The Shamal is a pretty fast jet and will allow you to get your skill upgraded reasonably quickly. You use the R2 and L2 Buttons to turn the Shamal while on the ground so you can get lined up for takeoff. Once in the air, you can get really far up in the sky. Head due south until you "fly off the map" and go over deep water. Then just go around the entire San Andreas area to get your Flying Skill upgraded. If you accidentally fly into an Unwelcome Area you will get a 4-Star Wanted Rating and you will chased by a fighter jet and be shot at by heat seeking missiles. Maxing out your Flying Skill won't nearly take as long as maxing your Driving Skill especially with the Shamal. Maxing out your Flying Skill will automatically give you a Parachute every time you jump out of a plane regardless of whether or not you had one when you entered the plane. If you want to skydive, press Triangle while in an airplane high in the air. Push forward on the Left Analog Stick to fall faster. Press Circle to deploy the Parachute. You can control your direction with the Left Analog Stick. To slow your descent pull back on the stick. You can actually fly pretty far this way. If you have a Wanted Level while in the air you will be vunerable to police attacks because you can't use weapons while parachuting. If you haven't maxed out your Pilot Skill you will want to find where the Parachute Icons are before flying. /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | A.22. Safehouses | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ There are many places in San Andreas that you can buy. Each of these places serve as save points and each property bought will inch you closer to 100% Completion. Some of these properties have additional features, like garages. All Safehouses have closets where you keep all of the clothes you get during the course of the game. There are several Safehouses that can be purchased at the beginning of the game (they will show green on your map). Other properties won't be accessible until later in the game (they will show red on your map). /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | A.23. Advanced Tips And Information | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ Below are some tips and additional information that will be of benefit to you..... 0===============0 | Crack Dealers | 0===============0 Sometimes you will see a black man with a black shirt just standing on the sidewalk with his arms crossed. He is a Crack Dealer. You can talk to him and give him eithar a positive or negative response. However, when you see one, just run over him. When you kill a Crack Dealer he will drop a lot of money (at least $3,000 or more). A good way to earn some cash. /==XX====XX====XX====XX====XX====X##***##X====XX====XX====XX====XX====XX==\ 0===XX====XX====XX====XX====XX====X##***##X====XX====XX====XX====XX====XX===0 | B. Weapons And Other Items | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ Weapons are the tools of the trade for any professional criminal regardless of sophistication (or lack thereof). There are 32 different weapons, in nine different categories, that can be found and used to create mayhem and abuse. However, you can only have one of each type at a time so you can only carry a maximum of nine weapons. But there are other items that are not weapons but can be used for different purposes like picture taking, jumping from high buildings, or fostering relationships with some of the Girlfriends you can date within the game. There are three slots for these Other Items. It should be noted that some of these items can be used as weapons depending on the situation. Most of the weapons listed have Weapon Skills that can be upgraded which will make these weapons far more effective. Some Weapon Classes use the same type of ammo so you can easily get a lot of ammo for a weapon by switching from one type of weapon within that class for another within the same class. The Shotgun class is one example. You can increase your Shotgun ammo by switching from one type of Shotgun to another since they use the same ammo. But not all Weapon Classes allow you to do that (an example would be the Handgun class since the Handguns in that class all use different ammo for each type). Most of these Weapons can be found at Ammu-Nation which will be opened after completion of "Doberman" (Sweet Johnson). More weapons will be available for purchase at Ammu-Nation as you progress through the game. Below are the Weapons and Other Items that can be found in the Los Santos and Red County area. I have done a lot of work to confirm where the Weapons and OtherItems are for this guide. If you find Weapons or Other Items in Los Santos / Red County that are not listed here please let me know so I can update the information. /XXXXXXXXXXXXX\ 0===============0 | Slot 1 - Fist | 0===============0 \XXXXXXXXXXXXX/ Good for hands-on fisticuffs but you can increase your damage potential by acquiring the Brass Knuckles in the alleyway beside the Commerce 24-7 (Los Santos). You can also find it underneath the south end of the bridge just west of CJ's house. /XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\ 0========================0 | Slot 2 - Melee Weapons | 0========================0 \XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/ These weapons are used for pounding, stabbing, and slicing your enemies. There are quite a lot of choices here for the discriminating thugger..... 0==============0 | Baseball Bat | 0==============0 Great for batting practice (on somebody's head) or breaking kneecaps. There are no Baseball Bat Weapon Icons in Los Santos but you can get one from a angry pedestrian if he happens to be wielding one. 0============0 | Nightstick | 0============0 This can be acquired from a dead cop which is just as well, he won't be needing it anyway (or the locker room of the Los Santos Police Department HQ and Dillimore Police Station). This can also be found on the guard shack of the Film Studio south of the Los Sepulcros Cemetary. Great for when you want to enforce your own brand of law. Can't we all just get along?...... 0===========0 | Golf Club | 0===========0 You can improve your swing and work somebody over at the same time..... Locations: ********** --In front of the restaurant in Blueberry (Red County). 0========0 | Katana | 0========0 Not as effective as it was in Vice City but still a nice melee weapon to have. Locations: ********** --Behind the wooden fence east of the El Corona 24-7 (Los Santos). 0==========0 | Chainsaw | 0==========0 Be careful using this weapon, you move slowly while using it so you are vunerable to being attacked or busted. Therefore, it has limited strategic potential. Good for some sick thrills though..... Locations: ********** --Under the log shelter on the west side of The Panopticon (Red County). --In front of one of the shacks on the south side of the road in Hampton Barns (Red County). --On the stone pier at water level on the southwest side of the main island in Ocean Docks (Los Santos). --Behind the large container to the left of the junkyard entrance by the railroad tracks west of the Willowfield Ammu-Nation (Los Santos). /XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\ 0===================0 | Slot 3 - Handguns | 0===================0 \XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/ There are three Handguns that can be found in the game. These are the only weapons that can be used while in a car or on a motorcycle. These Weapons have Weapon Skills that can be upgraded. All of the SubMachine Guns use the same ammo so you can actually increase your SubMachine Gun ammo when switching from one type of SubMachine Gun to another. 0======0 | Tec9 | 0======0 This has the largest magazine of this group but is less accurate and has a slower rate of fire. When Hitman Weapon Skill Level is reached you can duel-wield Tec9's. You can also use this with the Jetpack (acquired after "Green Goo" (Verdant Meadows Aircraft Graveyard Asset). Has a high rate of accuracy and fire making it perfect for drive-bys. This is the only SubMachine Gun that you can't duel-wield at Hitman Weapon Skill Level but that doesn't make you any less dangerous..... Locations: ********** --At any Ammu-Nation (after "Doberman" (Sweet Johnson)): --Downtown Los Santos [Cost: $2,000]. --WIllowfield (Los Santos) [Cost: $2,000]. --Blueberry (Red County) [Cost: $2,000]. --Palomino Creek (Red County) [Cost: $2,000]. --Behind wall on the west side of the burned out building on the north side of Montgomery (Red County). --On top of the stairs of the house with the brick yard (east of the Flowers) in north Las Colinas (Los Santos). --On top of the Jefferson Motel in Jefferson (Los Santos). You can even crouch with this weapon making your sight more steady (something you couldn't do in either GTA3 and GTA: Vice City). Locations: ********** --At any Ammu-Nation (after "Pier 69" (Loco Syndicate)): --Downtown Los Santos [Cost: $5,000]. --WIllowfield (Los Santos) [Cost: $5,000]. --Blueberry (Red County) [Cost: $5,000]. --Palomino Creek (Red County) [Cost: $5,000]. --At the top of the stairs of Interglobal Television south of the Country Club in Vinewood (Los Santos). --At the top of the highest part of County Hospital in Jefferson (Los Santos) (can only be reached by helicopter or Jetpack). --On top of the large white apartment building in Mulholland north of the Pay N' Spray (Los Santos) (can only be reached by Jetpack). /XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\ 0========================0 | Slot 8 - Heavy Weapons | 0========================0 \XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/ These are some of the most powerful weapons in the game. Better still, CJ is unaffected by the Tear Gas cloud. Bonus! Then switch to the Detonator (it has it's own slot when the Remote Explosives is used) to detonate. Lots of fun can be had with this weapon. This is essentially San Andreas' version of Halo's Plasma Grenade. Locations: ********** --At any Ammu-Nation (after "Body Harvest" (The Truth)): --Downtown Los Santos [Cost: $2,000]. --WIllowfield (Los Santos) [Cost: $2,000]. --Blueberry (Red County) [Cost: $2,000]. --Palomino Creek (Red County) [Cost: $2,000]. --In alley north of the Inside Track location in Montgomery (Red County). /XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX\ 0==========================0 | Slot 10 - Handheld Items | 0==========================0 \XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/ These items listed below have multiple uses. 0===========0 | Spray Can | 0===========0 This is used to spray over Graffiti Tags. Press Circle to pull the ripcord and hope it works..... Locations: ********** --At the top of the tallest building in Los Santos. The location is the round building northwest of the central highway intersection in Downtown Los Santos. Before Doing The Story Missions | 0===========================================================================0 \XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/ To start, I'm going to do as much of the off-story stuff as possible before doing the first official mission, "Big Smoke" / "Sweet and Kendl". A lot of this stuff can be done in any order but doing some things in a certain sequence will be of most benefit to you like maxing out your Cycling Skill before doing the BMX Challenge. All the tasks in the section are listed in the order I did them for this guide. This also chronicles my journey through San Andreas. Since I can't fully explore the areas outside Los Santos / Red County, at this time, my primary focus is to do as much as possible before going into the Main Story Missions. This includes maxing out every skill I can including all but one of my weapons, all of my Vehicle Stats, and most of my physical stats. I won't lie to you. Maxing out most of these skills before doing the Main Story Missions will take a long time. However, I would rather do them now and get it over with rather than being forced away from the story to upgrade something so I can beat certain missions. /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | B.I.1. In The Beginning..... | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ It is 1992 and Carl Johnson is returning home to Los Santos after a five year self-exile to Liberty City. It is not a happy occasion however, since he is returning home because his mother has been killed. Upon arrival, it gets worse for him. He encounters two cops from his gangbanging past, Officer Tenpenny and Officer Pulaski, who are very corrupt and frame him for a cop's murder to drag him back into the game once again. To top that off, they drop him into Ballas turf. The Ballas are rivals of the Grove Street Families and Carl has to get himself out of there pronto. All he has in front of him is a bicycle and thus the story begins..... /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | B.I.2. Bike Riding and the Commerce 24-7 Courier Asset Mission | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ When you get onto the bike, press X to move forward. To go faster, tap X. To sprint, tap X faster and you will see him stand on the bike and pedal really fast. You can actually go quite a distance this way. To Bunny-Hop, hold R1 then release to jump. The higher your Cycling Skill, the higher you will jump. If you happen to come to a stop when you climbing a steep incline, rapidly tap X to shoot yourself up the incline. This skill will come in handy for the BMX Challenge later. Be careful when going at top speed. If you smack into a pedestrian, you will wreck (as well as killing the pedestrian). Instead of heading toward the CJ Icon on the map, I am going to head toward the Commerce 24-7 west of City Hall. In front of the 24-7 is another BMX bike. But this one is special. Getting on this bike will trigger the Commerce 24-7 Courier Asset Mission. This is a simple mission. While on the bike you have to throw packages through the red coronas shown on your map. You have do this Drive-By style using the R2 and L2 Buttons in conjunction with the Circle Button. If you miss you can get a second chance by picking up the package and trying again. Part of your score is determined by how many packages you bring back to the 24-7 when you complete a level. After completing the last corona in the run you then have to go back to the Commerce 24-7 to complete the run. There are a total of four runs to complete: Run #1 ****** --Coronas = 3 --Packages = 6 --Time Limit = 3 minutes Run #2 ****** --Coronas = 4 --Packages = 6 --Time Limit = 5 minutes Run #3 ****** --Coronas = 5 --Packages = 7 --Timne Limit = 5 minutes Run #4 ****** --Coronas = 6 --Packages = 8 --Time Limit = 10 minutes For the last run you will notice that the packages are really spread out. Start by going west and going clockwise along the course. You can practically sprint all the way through the course even with low Stamina. Just try not to wreck too much. Upon completion you gain a Money Icon outside the 24-7 and it will max out at $2,000. You also inch closer toward 100% Completion and earn more than $10,000 which is more than enough for me to do the following..... /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | B.I.3. Buying The First Safehouse | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ While still on the bike I head back toward CJ's house. Even though I haven't entered the red circle I can save the bike inside the garage. I will need it later. I also took the opportunity to go behind the house so I can climb the fence, the garage roof, the house roof, and finally walked over to the nearby Pawn Shop roof to get a Spray Can so I can do the Graffiti Tags later. From here I went into the flood control channel to the east and went under the two bridges to get a Micro SMG and Body Armor. Then I went out of the channel, back into the street, and headed straight north toward the green Safehouse Icon (on the map) in Jefferson. I purchased the Safehouse and saved my game before doing my next objective..... /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | B.I.4. Inside Track Betting and Easy Money | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ After saving my game I got a nearby car and headed west into the north part of Downtown Los Santos. Under the raised freeway and just south of the parking lot under the Mulholland Intersection is the Inside Track Betting parlor. Here you can bet on the horses. And it is here you can win a lot of money. A whole lot of money. Walk to the ITB Machine to play the horses. There are five choices and they go from top to bottom from best odds to long odds. The long odds are usually 10 to 1, 11 to 1, and 12 to 1. You can also bet in increments from $5 to $10,000. As it turns out, based on info from the message boards, all of the horses have the same chances of winning regardless of the odds posted. It is not skewed to where the worst horse loses 99 time out of a hundred or where the best horse wins most of the time. No, all of the horses have an equal chance to win the races. To start trying to win money bet all of your money on the bottom horse. If you win, go back to the Jefferson Safehouse and save your game. Then go back here to win more money. If you lose, pause, reload from your Jefferson Safehouse save point and come back here to try again. The maximum you can bet at any one time is $9,999,995. At 12 to 1 odds that means you can win a maximum of $119,999,936. However, it can become tedious trying to get that 119 million. The maximum increment is $10,000 and you have to press the button once for each ten grand you wish to bet. You can't just hold the button down to get it to increase. You either have to tap fast using two fingers or use a programmable joypad to speed things up. Of course, having $10,000,000 plus is more than enough to get things started so you don't have to try to get $100,000,000 unless you want to but it will be very nice to have. I am currently sitting at over $130,000,000. Regardless of whether or not you have over ten million or over a hundred million, purchase the remaining available Safehouses. I did this after I did most other stuff before the Main Story Missions but I felt that this strategy to getting a lot of money would be best done after purchasing the first Safehouse in Jefferson. /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | B.I.5. Oysters | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ The next thing I am going to do here is to collect as many Oysters as I can. There are 50 Oysters scattered around the whole San Andreas area. They can be found only in the water but can be found inland in lakes and swimming pools. As explained earlier I can swim around Unwelcome Areas as long as I don't make landfall. There are a couple of exceptions, however, mainly around near the Easter Bay Airport (San Fierro) and the west end of Los Santos Inlet. Trust me, the last thing you want is to have a 4-Star Wanted Rating while exposed in the water. By swimming around these areas I can get a total of 39 Oysters out of 50. This will take about a couple of hours because of the distance traveled and swimming speed. But in the process I am increasing my Max Health, Stamina, and Lung Capacity. While swimming, dive and swim beneath the water until you have about 10% air left then surface. Wait for your air to return to 100% then repeat. This will help you to maximize your Lung Capacity. By the time I finished with my Oyster collecting for this section I maxed my Lung Capacity, maxed my Stamina, and nearly maxed my Health. For collecting all 50 Oysters you get $100,000. You will also get $100 for each Oyster you collect. Each Oyster listed will be designated with a "Y" because "O" looks too much like a zero. In addition, the number list is going to be based on my numbering system which starts in the Desert area and goes in this order: Las Venturas, San Fierro, Badlands, Red County, and Los Santos. Because the Oysters are spread throughout San Andreas I am also adding a sectional designation to make them easier to find: --LS - Los Santos --RC - Red County --FC - Flint County --WS - Whetstone --SF - San Fierro --TR - Tierra Robada --LV - Las Venturas After saving at my Willowfield Safehouse I went to get the two Oysters inside Los Santos: [LS-Y37] - Inside the swimming pool of the large mansion behind the VINEWOOD sign. Climb the fence on the north side to gain entrance. [LS-Y39] - Inside the lake in Glen Park. Now it is time to enter the ocean. Head to Playa Del Seville and enter the water. Head south: [LS-Y44] - At the end of one of the concrete piers at Playa Del Seville. [LS-Y48] - At the south end of the pier just southwest of the large docked ship at Ocean Docks. [LS-Y47] - Underneath the bridge just northwest of LS-Y48. [LS-Y49] - Under the southernmost bridge at Ocean Docks. Southwest of LS-Y47. [LS-Y50] - Just off the beach at the southwest corner of Los Santos International Airport. Near the center of the curve. [LS-Y46] - Just west of the Verdant Bluffs road tunnel near the south entrance. [LS-Y43] - Underneath the south road bridge in the Marina. [LS-Y41] - Underneath the north road bridge in the Marina. Swim to the Santa Maria Pier. Go to the end of the Pier and get a hot dog from the vendor there. This will be the last time you can eat for awhile. Jump into the water and head west: [LS-Y45] - At the end of the Santa Maria Beach Lighthouse. Now swim southwest and head toward Flint County. [FC-Y29] - Under the southermost road bridge in Flint County. Now head north along the river. As you near the next bridge, the water will get very shallow. There is a sandbar in the middle and if you walk on it you will get a 4-Star Wanted Rating. Just stay on the left side of the river and head toward the next bridge where you will find..... [FC-Y28] - Under the old wooden bridge just north of FC-Y29. Keep going north and stay to the left part of the river until it gets deep again. Eventually you will get to..... [WS-Y27] - Under the bridge east of Mount Chiliad. [WS-Y26] - Under the north-south bridge connecting Mount Chiliad and San Fierro (in the middle). Now head north along the west side of San Fierro. If you've done a lot of diving to increase your Lung Capacity you may have it maxed by now. Turn east when you see the Gant Bridge and head toward the large ship nearby..... [SF-Y17] - On the south side of the south support tower for the Gant Bridge. [SF-Y18] - Under the stern of the ship east of the Gant bridge. Now head north..... [TR-Y2] - Between the concrete bridge support for the Gant Bridge and the rock wall. Head east again..... [TR-Y3] - Near the entrance of the small lagoon in Tierra Robada. Go back south along the coastline..... [TR-Y6] - By the roadside wall southeast of TR-Y3. Head south toward the next ship. At this point you may get hungry but you should have plenty of health to accomplish the rest of this part of the run. [SF-Y19] - Under the ship northeast of San Fierro. Head towards the middle of the Garver bridge..... [SF-Y20] - Under the main bridge support to the Garver Bridge. Head toward the little inlet east of the Kincaid Bridge..... [BC-Y8] - At the end of the little inlet east of the Kincaid Bridge. Go along the coastline and head north toward the Las Barrancas area..... [BC-Y9] - In the small boathouse just north of the freeway bridge. [BC-Y7] - Under the small road bridge in the inlet in the southwest part of Las Barrancas. Now head back south and toward the Easter Bay Airport..... [SF-Y22] - At the end of the main runway for Easter Bay Airport. [SF-Y24] - Under the stern of the ship southwest of SF-Y22. Hug the wall of the runway while heading to the Oyster and back after collecting it. It should be noted that if you try to get the two Oysters at Easter Basin west of the runway you will get a 4-Star Wanted Rating. This is because it is part of the Easter Basin Naval Station and they don't like trespassers. I'll get these a little bit later while using the "Reuniting The Families" exploit. Head back east..... [RC-Y30] - At the northwest part of the Panoptican. Get back on land and get a vehicle. Get food to replenish your health and save at the Willowfield Safehouse. Now it is time to do the second major part of the Oyster run for this section. Head north toward the Frederick Bridge and jump into the water..... [RC-Y31] - Under the center of Frederick Bridge. Now head north alongside the east coast of Las Venturas. Getting the two Oysters by Las Venturas will take awhile but it can be done. You should be very near the maximum Health limit by the time you head back toward the Frederick Bridge. [LV-Y11] - On the northeast corner of Las Venturas almost underneath the boat. [LV-Y10] - Near the Bone County Beach near the northwest part of Yellow Bell Golf Club in Las Venturas. South of the boat parked nearby. Head back toward the Frederick Bridge. Swim into San Andreas Sound and head toward the river going south. [RC-Y32] - Under the smaller bridge just south of the freeway bridge (west of Palomino Creek). [RC-Y33] - Under the pier at Fisher's Lagoon. Head west and follow the river..... [RC-Y34] - Under the road bridge northwest of Dillimore. [RC-Y35] - Under the bridge just east of Flint Water. Once in Flint Water head south..... [RC-Y36] - Under the bridge just south of Flint Water. [RC-Y38] - Under the railroad bridge southeast of RC-Y36. [RC-Y40] - Under the bridge northeast of the Flint Intersection. Once back inside Los Santos Inlet head west..... [FC-Y42] - In the northwest corner at the north end of the beach. There. That takes care of most of the Oysters. At this point I have swam back into Los Santos and saved my game so I can move onto my next objective..... /=========================================================================\ 0===========================================================================0 | B.I.6. Graffiti Tags | 0===========================================================================0 \=========================================================================/ In Los Santos there are 100 Graffiti Tags that must be spraypainted over with the Grove Street Families tag. You're supposed to do this after the mission "Tagging Up Turf" (Sweet Johnson) but you can do them all before doing the Main Story Missions. When doing the "Tagging Up Turf" the six tags you covered up will be uncovered so you can cover them back up to complete the mission. I played around and found out that you can get all 100 Tags before the Main Story Missions without negatively affecting "Tagging Up Turf". I used the BMX bike that I saved in the garage then I went and found the Spray Can Icon in Las Colinas so I can get enough paint to start doing the Tags. By doing the Tags now I am increasing my familarity with the Los Santos area. To spray paint a tag, you use R1 to target and use the Circle button to paint. Wait until the game prompts that the tag has been successfully painted before stopping. Make sure that no cops are around when tagging otherwise you will get a Wanted Rating. When starting you may want to use a Bicycle to get from Tag to Tag (and to get Spray Cans) so you can max out your Cycling Skill. Once you do that, get a Motorcycle and begin maxing your Bike Skill. You may also want to accumulate weapons you find to begin maxing out your Weapon Skills later. The Tags are listed in numerical order in each neighborhood using my personal numbering system. I went from west to north to northeast to southeast to south to south central and finally to the central part of the city. When all 100 Tags are finished your Respect will increase and the following Weapon Icons will spawn in the kitchen of CJ's house: >>AK47 >>Tec9 >>Sawnoff Shotgun >>Molotov Cocktails The Graffiti Tag list is as follows: 0===================0 | Santa Maria Beach | 0===================0 [T62] - On lower level (south side) behind the Santa Maria Beach Pay N' Spray. [T81] - At the end of the Santa Maria Pier on the upper level of the east building. 0=======0 | Rodeo | 0=======0 [T28] - Tucked in corner left of the doors for Vinyl Countdown in north Rodeo. [T45] - Behind the Tableau store just northeast of center of Section E-4. 0==========0 | Vinew
