Introduction # ################################################################################ WARNING: THIS GUIDE MAY CONTAIN SOME EXPLICIT LANGUAGE, FROM RADIO STATION PLAYLISTS AND LYRICS TO IN GAME STUFF DESCRIBED. NO ****'S WILL BE USED, SO IF YOU ARE OFFENDED, THEN YOU SHOULDN'T BE PLAYING THIS GAME TO START WITH! Hello! I'm Jason Miller, and, well, here is my complete guide to Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas! As you can see, obviously, it isn't complete yet, but as time progresses, it will be! I actually expect this guide to come close 1000k worth of information. :P. I have started guides on GTAIII and GTA:VC in the past, but since I started them so late, they never got submitted! But alas, I'm not making that mistake this time around! Got the game the day it came out, and over the first week of my gaming, I have clocked 50 hours on this game! Rockstar has truly impressed me, they have made this game so good, that it makes Vice City look like DRIV3R. So much to do, so much to cover, let's get on with the guide! ################################################################################ # 2. Revision History # ################################################################################ Version 0.45 (November 8, 2004) Well, sorry for the lack of updates, but they will start back up strong throughout the week. Just updated the FAQ section and added some submissions sent in by some users. I will be working on a Halo 2 FAQ simultaneously, so updates might not come as quickly as I want them to. Version 0.4 (November 4, 2004) Completely overhauled the Weapons section, added locations and information on every weapon. If you know of more locations, please email me the full details of the location to jmiller13x@yahoo.com and you will be fully credited. Also, I've added locations to all police bribes, body armor, and adrenaline icons. Also vivi200 from GameFAQs corrected me on some of the false cheats. Version 0.35 (November 4, 2004) Got lots of emails, decided to update again tonight with a lot of questions that I am getting answered. Check the FAQ section. Also fixed a quick error. Version 0.3 (November 3, 2004 - November 4, 2004) Whee, got posted, yay. Anyway, I was really busy on the third, so I didn't update but 1 Ryder mission, but today, I added the other 2 Ryder missions, and answered two questions that were e-mailed to me! Version 0.2 (November 2, 2004) Blah, rejected because too little of a walkthrough! Very well. I've added 8 more missions, the first 7 of the Sweet missions and Cesar's mission. Hopefully it gets accepted this time...if not then I guess I will have even more to work on! Version 0.1 (October 31, 2004 - November 1, 2004) My guide is finally here! Basically I have done all basics of the game, Vehicles and Weapons, Started the Radio Station section, Cheats and Codes are up, and just started on the actual Walkthrough! I intend to update this daily, so always check http://www.gamefaqs.com for more! ################################################################################ # 3. Weapons # ################################################################################ *** IF YOU KNOW LOCATIONS OF WEAPONS, EMAIL ME A DETAILED LOCATION OF THE WEAPON AND YOU WILL GET FULL CREDIT! THANK YOU! jmiller13x@yahoo.com =========== = a. Hand = =========== Brass Knuckles More powerful than the fist, always good to carry around for close combat fighting. Locations: From your starting location "The Johnson House" run up the street until you reach the first overpass. You should be heading west at this point. To your left (south), head towards the side of the overpass (around the corner of this wall is one of the gang tags). They should be in the grass about right in the middle of the width of the wall. (Thanks to John Pickett) Mulholland - Alleyway beside Foodmart. Fist What you'll always have to use. :P. Used to punch people or something, it's much better to get Brass Knuckles though. ============ = b. Melee = ============ Baseball Bat A great melee weapon to carry around, one of my favorites and it's always been a good symbol of the GTA Series. Cane Pimp cane? I dunno what it is. Just beat your opponents with it. :P. Chainsaw This is one of the best weapons in the history of videogames. Press triangle for a light attack and circle for a heavy attack. Slice your opponent up! Locations: Los Santos - Hampton Barns - In front of shanty. Los Santos - The Panoptican - Next to the west log shelter. Dildo (Location thanks to Brad Pruente) Yes, a dildo. You should know what this is. Use it to smack people. Locations: Los Santos - Police Department Golf Club Four! Hit your opponent onto the fairway. Locations: Los Santos - Behind the VINEWOOD sign. You should know where this is! :P. Katana This is another one of my favorite weapons in the game, you can completely own your opponent's with this. Target your enemy and slice them, ninja style baby. Locations: Los Santos - Behind 69cent shop. Knife Ah, the master stealth weapon. Sneak up behind your opponent's by crouching, then targeting, then pressing O to slice their throat for a nice stealth kill. Or you can just stab people to death. Locations: Los Santos - Market - Behind the string of stores. Nightstick A police officer's choice of weapon. I don't particularly like it, but if you feel like acting like a cop, this is the weapon for you. Pool Stick You can actually play pool in this game! If it's not in my side missions section now, it will be some day. :P. Besides playing pool, you can whack enemies with it! Locations: Los Santos - Blueberry - Outside the corner of the bar. San Fierro: Go to the building site right behind your workshop (main hideout). Now place with the back to you hideout. You're looking at a purged building now, under the right roof, which is lieing on the ground is a poolstick AND a Flamethrower. (Thanks to Max Krug) Shovel Too bad you can't dig holes to bury your enemies, but you can smash people over the head with this nice addition! Locations: Los Santos - Ganton - Ryder's backyard. Los Santos - Palomino Creek - Inside cemetary. Los Santos - The Panoptican - Near the shanty in the logging site. =============== = c. Handguns = =============== Desert Eagle I love this weapon, first became a fan of it after playing Counter-Strike. You must hold it with two hands, and it's 10 times as powerful as a normal pistol! Yes, 10 times! Gangster Level Reached At: 20% Skill Level Pistol Just another basic weapon of the GTA series. You can weild two of these at once when you reach the Hitman level. Gangster Level Reached At: 10% Skill Level Silenced 9mm This is a great gun for some missions when you don't want to alert other enemies, and not only that, it's five times as powerful as the regular pistol! Gangster Level Reached At: 20% Skill Level Locations: Los Santos - Ganton - Behind Sweet's house. Los Santos - Conference Center - Back steps. Los Santos - Santa Maria Beach - On a lifeguard post. Los Santos - In the left corner BEHIND Sweet's crib. (Thanks to Max Krug) =============== = d. Shotguns = =============== Combat Shotgun The most powerful shotgun of them all. One word: Dominant. Gangster Level Reached At: 20% Skill Level Sawn-Off Shotgun I like this weapon because you can weild two at the hitman level, can't do that with any other shotgun! Gangster Level Reached At: 20% Skill Level Locations: Los Santos - Eastside - Roof of Pigpen. Los Santos - Palomino Creek - On back porch of house with white garage. Shotgun The basic shotgun that you remember from the past GTAs. Gangster Level Reached At: 20% Skill level ====================== = e. Machine Pistols = ====================== Micro-MP5 Nowhere near as powerful as the great MP5, but still a nice weapon to have. You can weild two of these at the Hitman skill level. Gangster Level Reached At: 10% Skill Level Locations: Los Santos - Ganton - Under flood control bridge. Badlands - Behind the Campingwagon left to your saving point (Thanks to Max Krug) MP5 You should always have this gun with you, it is godly, and I use it 50% of the time. And when you can weild two at a time, you are unstoppable. Gangster level Reached At: 30% Skill Level Locations: Los Santos - Las Colinas - On brick patio of posh building. Montgomery - Behind a cement wall inside the yard of the burned building. Unity Train Station - Behind small white wall. Tec-9 Just a basic uzi, nothing special. But you can do drive-bys!..Woohoo... Gangster Level Reached At: 10% Skill Level Locations: Los Santos - Blueberry - Beside the warehouse opposite the spandex building. Los Santos - International Airport - Under raised freeway onramp. Los Santos - Mulholland - Behind house with the two double door garages. ===================== = f. Assault Rifles = ===================== AK-47 This, in my opinion, is the best gun in the game. It might not seem like it is the best, and some people might argue, but the quickness of it and it's power is unmatched. I love this gun to death, and I find myself using it nearly always. Gangster Level Reached At: 30% Skill Level Locations: Los Santos - Mulholland - Behind the Food Mart. Red County - Outside on the north of the beer factory in Blueberry. M4 Like the AK, this weapon is another powerful one. I am a big fan of this gun in real life, and a huge fan of it in Counter-Strike. But sticking to this game, it's a great gun to have, I just prefer the AK47. Gangster Level Reached At: 20% Skill Level Locations: Los Santos - International Airport - End of runway between white and yellow strip. ============= = g. Rifles = ============= Country Rifle This is an extremely powerful and accurate rifle, but the problem is, there is no moving around while aiming. Sniper Rifle One of my favorite guns ever. I love jumping up on top of buildings, and zooming in on unsuspecting pedestrians below and blowing their head off. EXCELLENT for long range combat. Locations: Los Santos - Jefferson - Roof of the hospital. ====================== = h. Heavy Artillery = ====================== Flame Thrower Torch those mother****ers! One of the funnest weapons ever to use. You can't move while burning people. Remember not to catch yourself on fire. Locations: San Fierro: Go to the building site right behind your workshop (main hideout). Now place with the back to you hideout. You're looking at a purged building now, under the right roof, which is lieing on the ground is a poolstick AND a Flamethrower. (Thanks to Max Krug) Heat-seeking Rocket Launcher Hold R1 to target your opponent, which will be green. And then when it turns to red, FIRE! You can't miss, it kicks major ass. Minigun Holy crap this gun is powerful! No autotargeting, but you can sort of aim with R1. Destroys nearly everything in its path. Weird name for a gun like that, eh? Rocket Launcher The deadliest of the deadly. Hold R1 to Aim, Press O to fire. I find this especially useful when you are trying to take over a territory and enemy gangs run at you in packs. Heh heh heh... ============ = i. Throw = ============ Grenade Step 1: Throw. Step 2: Blow up and kill things. Locations: Los Santos - Idlewood - 2nd floor walkway of motel. Santa Maria Beach - Behind wood building on pier. Tear Gas This weapon is kinda stupid, only blinds opponents temporarily, and doesn't affect you. I'd rather just shoot the hell out of my opponent. Locations: Los Santos - Mulholland - Go to the Mulholland intersection, and it will be on the top of the opera house stairs. Molotov Cocktail Grenade type blow up + Gasoline = BURN BABY BURN! Basically a better grenade, in my opinion. Watch out for flames. Los Santos - Eastside - Alleyway beside Iron works building. Locations: Los Santos - Palomino Creek - Roof of library. Remote Satchel Explosive Throw weapon, switch to detonator, press detonator, watch boom. ===================== = j. Handheld Items = ===================== Camera Hold R1 to aim, L2 to zoom in and R2 to zoom out. Circle to snap pictures, and L1 to save pictures to your album. Fire Extinguisher Gee, do you know what this one does? Yep, it puts out fires, bet you couldn't have ever guessed that one. Press O or L1 to spray the fire extinguishing stuff. R1 makes it easier with a better view. Spray Can Tag up your opponent's turf! Target with R1 and press Circle to spray. You can blind enemies, but it's main purpose is to cover rival gang tags. Locations: Los Santos - Ganton - Rooftop of Pawn Shop behind the Johnson house. Los Santos - Las Colinas - Behind trailer with porch. ============ = k. Gifts = ============ Flowers Give this to your girlfriend, girlfriend love you. ==================== = l. Apparel Items = ==================== Parachute You get this when you jump out of a plane. Good thing you have it, too. Just press O at any time to deploy the parachute so you make a safe landing, and not a body splattering one. Locations: Los Santos - Downtown - Rooftop helipad of largest building in downtown. Thermal Goggles Press O to turn on and off. When on, you can see easier at night. ################################################################################ # 6. Walkthrough # ################################################################################ **** IF YOU HAVE ANY ALTERNATE STRATEGY FOR ANY MISSION THERE IS, SEND IT TO MY EMAIL AT jmiller13x@yahoo.com, AND I _WILL_ POST IT IN THIS GUIDE IF IT IS ACCEPTABLE. JUST BE SURE TO TELL ME WHAT YOU WANT TO BE CREDITED AS! * MORE COMING WITH EACH UPDATE, I UPDATE DAILY, DEPENDING ON THE DAY, IT COULD BE ANYWHERE FROM 1-5 NEW MISSIONS EACH DAY! =================================================== = Los Santos - The Beginning - "In The Beginning" = =================================================== Difficulty: 1/10 The first mission of the game, yay. Anyway, just grab the BMX bike with the blue marker on it, and head to the "CJ" icon on the map. Pretty straightforward and simple, if you need help with this one in the first place then you shouldn't be playing the game! Anyway, once you reach your destination, which is basically the Grove Street Families home, just walk into the red marker, and it will begin the first real mission...Big Smoke. ============================================ = Los Santos - The Beginning - "Big Smoke" = ============================================ Difficulty: 2/10 Respect Gained: 3 After going through the cutscene of seeing mom's house all messed up, Big Smoke walks through the door and reunites with his old friend CJ, and then they take off to go see CJ's brother Sweet and CJ's sister Kendl. After the cutscene takes you to the cemetary and the the family chats, the rival gang Ballas come by and blow up Big Smoke's car. From here, everyone gets on a BMX. All you have to do is follow Sweet. Tap X rapidly to pedal faster and keep up with him. The path is rather easy and you shouldn't have any trouble. The Ballas will try and hunt you down, but they are horrible at doing that and fast pedaling should keep you away from them anyway. After a little bit everyone ends up at the Muholland Intersection. A short cutscene, everyone goes back to cycling, but now you must follow Ryder. Anyway, the path is pretty much straightforward, and no strategy is needed to get to the end of this. Once you get to the Grove cul-de-sac, Sweet has some words with you and Ryder tells you to get a haircut and some new clothes. Mission passed! ======================================== = Los Santos - The Beginning - "Ryder" = ======================================== Difficulty: 2/10 Respect Gained: 3 Prerequsite: Beat the Mission "Big Smoke" When you walk into the marker, you will find Ryder playing with his gun. He tells you to go with him and teach a pizza place a lesson. Anyway, head over to the barbers, which is not too far away. When you get there, walk inside, and get yourself a new haircut! Any will do, just pick one you like and can afford. I'd recommend you get the highest priced one you can afford. Anyway, after this, head directly across the street to the Well Stacked Pizza Co. Go in there, and buy some food, it doesn't really matter which of the four meals you choose. After that, for some reason, Ryder comes in there and tries to rob the pizza boy. He pulls a shotgun on you, and Ryder and you run out of there. From here, just run back over and get in Ryder's vehicle and take off with Ryder back to his house. Basically, press start and look at the map, and find the best route for you to take. Once there, walk inside the red marker and mission complete. Simple, eh? Well missions get a bit harder later in the game. :P Trust me. After the mission is over, Ryder will tell you to head over to Sweet's house. Sweet will then call you. Head over to his place for the next mission! ================================================= = Los Santos - Sweet Johnson - "Tagging Up Turf = ================================================= Difficulty: 2/10 Respect Gained: 3 (+5% per tag) Cash Gained: $200 Prerequisite: Beat the mission "Ryder" As you enter the cutscene, Sweet and Big Smoke are playing basketball. CJ will then approach them, and Sweet hands CJ a can of spray paint. Your objective here is to spray over some enemy turf tags. After the cutscene is over, hop into Sweet's car and head over the Idlewood by following the yellow blip on the map. Once you find the yellow blip, drive down to the red marker down by the freeway ramp. Sweet will get out of the car and spray over the first of the enemies tags. There are 100 of these throughout the city, but we shall go over 6 of them in this mission. After that, Sweet tells CJ to spray 2 more tags. These tags will be represented by a green blip on the radar. You can walk to these next tags, and see the first of the two in the side of the green house. Walk over to it with your spraycan out, target it with R1, and then press O to spray until it says, "Tag Sprayed". After that, head around back and around the wall behind the green house. You will spot another tag that might be difficult to see if you aren't used to the tags on the back of the wall. Anyway, just walk up to it and spray it as normal. Easy, eh? You shouldn't really even need a walkthrough for this. Anyway, after this is done, head on over to East Lost Santos with Sweet. Once over in East Lost Santos, look for a building with a picture of a half naked latino chick on it. This next tag is hard to see, but it's on the right side of the front of that building. Walk up close and spray it, simple. From here, head north passed the red building with the chick on it and turn right into the alley. You'll see two ballas members there. Ice them with your spray can. Yes, that is right, with your spray can. Just target the enemies and spray their faces and they eventually die. From there, just spray the tag that is right next to them. You will get a wanted star from killing the enemies. I wouldn't worry about it though. Anyway head to the next blip on the radar, which is rather easy to find. It's next to CC Cabinet's and Marble Toys. Once you reach the marker, the game will tell you how to jump and such. Follow the directions and jump over the fence. Then head forward and climb over the bigger fence. Then turn left, climb over the platform and climb again till you are up onto the building. Head towards the building that's on top of the building that you are currently on, and then head east around that building. Target the tag you see there and spray it, then hop off the roof into Sweet's car, and drive on back to Sweet's house in Ganton to complete the mission. ==================================================== = Los Santos - Sweet Johnson - "Cleaning the Hood" = ==================================================== Difficulty: 3/10 Respect Gained: 3 Prerequsite: Beat the Mission "Tagging Up Turf" When you walk into the red marker outside Sweet's House and the cutscene begins, Sweet talks about trying to get Grove Street back on the map. Ryder joins in on the mix outside of Sweet's house. Ryder wants you to recruit a man named B-Dup and another named Big Bear to help drive the Drug Dearlers out of Grove Street. Hop into the Greenwood with Ryder and start your short trip to B-Dup's crib. Follow the yellow blip on the map by going west and then south, then west again. Once you reach B-Dup's crib, a cinematic will take you and Ryder inside his place. During the cinematic, Ryder and CJ find out that Big Bear and B-Dup don't exactly like eachother anymore. Anyway, after getting no help from either of them, Ryder and CJ leave. Get back in the car with Ryder, and head up north towards the red blip. Ryder and CJ will find that the crackhead..er...drug dealer is selling some stuff to a Grove member. You know what to do now..Ice that fool! Kill him anyway you wish, then take his bat and his $2000 that he drops. Ryder knows where this guy lives, so you and Ryder must now head to that place. Thankfully, this place isn't too far off, just drive a block west and you'll be there, it'll be a yellow blip on the radar. Once you reach the destination, walk into the red marker, and then walk up and go in the yellow marker inside the crackhouse. Once inside, you will find a bunch of crackhead Ballas. Then, another dealer walks into the room with a baseball bat. Use the bat you got earlier to beat this guy to death. If you want, you can beat up on the other crackheads in here as well. Anyway, head back outside and get a car, make sure Ryder is with you, and head on back to Sweet's house in Grove Street to complete the mission. After the mission is complete, you'll get a cell phone call from Officer Hernandez, warning you to not leave town. ============================================= = Los Santos - Sweet Johnson - "Drive-Thru" = ============================================= Difficulty: 2/10 Respect Gained: 5 Cash Gained: $200 Prerequisite: Beat the Mission "Cleaning the Hood" Head into the red marker at Sweet's house to trigger the cinematic that starts this mission. You'll meet up with Big Smoke, Ryder, and Sweet, and Smoke wants you to drive the gang over to Cluckin' Bell. Pretty simple to start this mission, just drive south into Willowfield until you find Cluckin' Bell, which is located with a yellow blip, and pull into the red marker. You'll go through the drive-thru, and a short time later, Ryder will spot a bunch of Ballas heading toward Grove. Floor it and take off after the enemy Voodoo. Sweet and Ryder will hang out the window shooting at the enemy vehicle, and if you have a Tec-9 or MP5, you can perform a drive-by by holding L2 or R2 and pressing O. Just keep the chase going until your gang blows up the enemy Voodoo. If there are survivors, either get out and kill them or run them over. After this, head back up north towards Sweet's house and drop him off. After this, head west into Idlewood and park at Sweet's house. If you can't find it, just look at your damn map, there is a blip on there for a reason. Drive into the Red Marker there to complete the mission. Step out of the car and you will get a cell phone call from Sweet. He'll complain about your physique and tell you to head over to the Gym in Ganton to work out. If you wish, go there and increase your muscle and stamina stats. If not, it's time to head back to Sweet's for the next mission. ================================================ = Los Santos - Sweet Johnson - "Nines and AKs" = ================================================ Difficulty: 1/10 Respect Gained: 4 Prerequisite: Beat the Mission "Drive-Thru" Head into the red marker at Sweet's house to trigger the mission. Smoke wants you and him to head over to Emmet's place, somewhat of an ammu-nation. Get in the car with Smoke and drive south, following the yellow blip, until you reach the south part of Willowfield and find Emmet's guns. Drive into the red marker there. After a rather interesting cutscene, Emmet hands you a 9mm and now you must train!...which could be possibly the easiest training ever. Follow the instructions he gives you there on shooting the bottles, which couldn't be any more straightforward, so you don't need a strategy guide for that. After the training, you need to drive Smoke back home to Idlewood. Follow the yellow blip on your radar; the easiest route being going straight North until you reach the three way intersection at Ganton, and then heading west from there until you reach Smoke's crib. Drive into the red marker there. After this, Sweet will give you a cell phone call and tell you to represent Grove Street by wearing the color green. LEPRECHAUNS. um..yeah. Anyway, head over to Bincos. Which is just northeast of Smoke's. Walk inside, buy green clothes, and leave. Mission complete. Easy, eh? =========================================== = Los Santos - Sweet Johnson - "Drive-By" = =========================================== Difficulty: 2/10 Respect Gained: 6 Cash Gained: $500 Prerequisite: Beat the Mission "Nines and AKs" Head back to Sweet's and walk into the Red Marker to trigger this mission. After a short cutscene of Ryder complaining on your driving, you get in the car with Ryder, Big Smoke, and Sweet, and head on over North-west into Ballas' territory. This territory is marked by a yellow blip on the radar. When you pull into the red marker there, Sweet will tell you to keep your eye on the road while everyone else handles the shooting. Start driving around the neighborhood, looking for Balla gang members, which appear as red blips on your radar. This is very easy, just drive up close to one, and your gang will reach out the car and shoot the hell out of the Balla member till he dies. You have to watch your car health and make sure it doesn't deplete, but it shouldn't be a problem in this mission. If you have an Uzi, you can press L2 or R2 to look to the side and help your gang members shoot the Ballas. After you have killed enough Ballas (the game will tell you), then you will get a Wanted Level of 2 stars, and you must head to a Pay 'n' Spray. It's quite a drive to get down there, but no biggie compared to the drives you have later in the game. Just head on south until you see a spray can on your radar, and once you get there, head into the red marker, and your car will enter the garage and repair your vehicle, give it a new paintjob, and remove your wanted level. Note that if you commit a felony while your wanted level stars are blinking, they will return, so be careful! Soon the blinking will go away and the wanted level is gone for good. After this, head northwest back to Grove Street, and drive into the marker there to complete the mission! =============================================== = Los Santos - Sweet Johnson - "Sweet's Girl" = =============================================== Difficulty: 3.5/10 Respect Gained: 7 Prerequisite: Beat the Mission "Drive-By" Head into the red marker in front of Sweet's house. CJ walks around and finds nobody home, so he leaves, and his cell phone rings. Sweet calls and tells CJ that he's being holed up at his girlfriend's house on the Seville Family turf. He needs you to come rescue him. If you don't have a weapon, head over to Emmet's, marked by the gun on the radar. If you do have a weapon, head on over to Playa Del Seville. It's marked by a yellow blip on the radar, so just head southeast to get there and look at your map if you are lost. Once there, spot the green gang members and drive over them. Their guns will usually blow your car up, so drive over them and get out, then use whatever guns you have to target them and finish them off. After you finish them all off, you get a cell phone call from Sweet telling you to meet him out front. Find any 4-Door car that you can and drive into the red marker. Once there, Sweet and his girl will hop in your car and tell you to take off. Start your trip back to Grove Street, marked by a yellow blip on the radar. There will be Seville gang members pursuing you, but chances are they won't catch up. Once you reach Grove Street, pull into the red marker, and mission complete! ================================================== = Los Santos - Sweet Johnson - "Cesar Vialpando" = ================================================== Difficulty: 3/10 Cash Gained: Varies Prerequisite: Beat the Mission "Sweet's Girl" Head into the red marker at Sweet's house to trigger the cutscene for this mission. As you walk into the house, you'll find CJ's brother Sweet and CJ's sister Kendll having a good ol' fashion sibling fight. Sweet tells Kendll to stop seeing her hispanic boyfriend and Kendll tells Sweet no. Sweet wants you to head over to a lowrider meeting where Kendl and Cesar (Kendl's boyfriend) are getting together. After the cutscene, hop into any car and head south towards Willowfield and then to the garage (marked by a yellow blip on the radar). Once there, go inside the red marker and you'll enter the garage and meet the mod mechanic. He tells you to take his lowrider to the lowrider competition at the Unity Station in El Corona. Your lowrider will then back into the mod garage, but don't bother buying anything for now since it's fairly useless and costworthy. Now find the yellow blip on your radar and drive towards it. Basically just keep going west, not too far off. Once there, you will be entered in the very easy lowrider competition. You can make your wager here, anywhere from $50 to $1000. I'd suggest you bet all your money because this is extremely easy. Anyway, it'll give you a series of directions that are pretty straightforward, and now you must follow them. Basically just move the right analog stick in the direction that the arrow points towards as it passes through the middle of the circle at the bottom of the screen. Very simple, hard to screw up. Once you win, Kendl comes and congratulates you, and introduces you to her boyfriend Cesar. After the short cutscene, mission complete! A short time later Cesar will call you and tells you to drop by his place and have you do a race! =========================================================== = Los Santos - Cesar Vialpando - "High Stakes, Low Rider" = =========================================================== Difficulty: 3/10 Cash Gained: $1000 Prerequisite: Beat the Mission "Cesar Vialpando" Look for the "CV" icon on your map, and head towards it (which is is south El Corona). Oh, and be sure you have a lowrider before going here. Use the one from the previous mission if you wish. There is also a Blade Lowrider next to Cesar's house, which I would prefer you use. Also, if you feel like you have time, head over to the mod garage and install Nitrous Oxide into your lowrider, and this race will be a breeze. Anyway, once you walk into the red marker at Cesar's, Cesar will tell CJ about a Lowrider race that he wants him to enter, and then tells you to follow him over there. Hop in your lowrider and follow Cesar's path. He doesn't drive fast, so I doubt you will lose him, if you even can lose him..lol. Anyway, once you reach the race, drive into the red marker, and the race will start. This is probably the easiest race in the game. Start off by going straight down the road for awhile, using nitrous down the whole road. You should already have a big lead now. Once you reach the 3rd checkpoint, turn right and head straight down that road till you reach the next checkpoint at the threeway intersection at the end of the road. From there, prepare to turn left. Always remember to slow down quite a bit so you don't lose it in a turn, lowriders don't have the best of handling. Remember to use nitrous down the road from the 3rd checkpoint to the 4th checkpoint. Anyway, after turning left, go straight and take the first left again, then the first right, then the first left, then the first right, then once you reach the three way intersection at the end of the road, turn left and take your first right. From here, it's a straightaway to the finish, so kick in your nitrous and go as fast as you can, and you should already be a mile ahead of your opponents. Anyway, just keep it kicked in, and coast all the way down the bridge to the finish. Note that you must come in first place to beat this mission. Good job or something! =============================================== = Los Santos - Ryder Wilson - "Home Invasion" = =============================================== Difficulty: 3/10 Respect Gained: 5 Prerequisite: Beat the Mission "Drive-By" To start this mission, you must walk into the red marker at Ryder's place (signified by a "R" on the radar) between 12:00 and 20:00. Any other time will just tell you to wait. Anyway, once you are there between those times a cutscene of CJ finding Ryder in the back yard all stoned and stuff. He wants to go rob some military guy's house. So the mission starts. You will have 8 minutes to complete it, but that should be plenty enough. You will start by driving a black Boxville with Ryder in it, and you will need to head northeast towards the yellow blip on the screen to get to your first destination, which is of course the military guy's house. Very simple drive and it should only take you about 30 seconds to get there. Once there, Ryder and you will get out of the truck, and he will tell you to go inside while he stays outside. So I bet you know what you have to do now! Walk into the door with a yellow arrow over it. Inside you will need to be very quiet, crouching with L3 is always a good idea. When you first walk in, gently tap your left analog stick to move, and find the first of the three crates on the right side of the bottom floor. Once you get that, SNEAK out by gently tapping the left analog stick till you get back to the door, get outside and run to the back of the truck, and press the triangle button to put the crate in. Go back inside, and start walking very slowly again, making sure not to bring the noise meter up and stay quiet. Once you begin walking, go up the stairs and go to the room opposite the stars, and the next crate will be in the bottom left, in between the two table like things. Grab it, and move slowly outside, and do the same method as before on loading it into the Boxville. After that, sneak back in, and sneak up to the top of the stairs where there is another crate lying, and sneak back out. IF you have a lot of time left, you can go back in and get some more crates. There is one more at the end of the hallway upstairs and a weapons crate in the military guy's bedroom. After that, sneak back outside, and if you don't have a wanted level, go ahead and drive to the lockup, which will appear as a yellow blip on the radar. Just a simple drive southwest. Be sure NOT to tip over the Boxville, because at times it is rather easy to do that. Anyway, just drive into the red marker at the lockup, and mission complete! ========================================== = Los Santos - Ryder Wilson - "Catalyst" = ========================================== Difficulty: 4/10 Respect Gained: 7 Prerequisite: Beat the Mission "Home Invasion" Note that you can only trigger this mission between the times of 20:00 and 06:00. Once in those times, head to Ryder's house, signified by a "R" on your radar, and walk inside the red marker to trigger the cutscene. During the cutscene officer Tenpenny and his buddies will tell you that a train is coming by and it has something on board that Ryder and CJ might like. After the cutscene is over, get in Ryder's truck and head for yellow blip on your radar. Make sure you have some weaponry with you, because you'll need it. Once you get up towards the train, you'll notice that there is a rival gang already there. Get out of your vehicle and gun down all three members of the enemy gang (they have red arrows over them). After you gun them down, a short cutscene will take place, and now 4 ballas are there to attack you. Follow the same method as before, and gun down all 4 members, very simple. After this, go towards the red marker at the back of the train to hop on board. Once on board, the train will start rolling, Ryder says he is right behind you. Now your objective is to toss the crates of ammo that you just found back at Ryder, who is in his truck following you on the train. You will have to toss 10 crates of ammo to Ryder in a minute and a half. Hold L1 down for more power, the the power you will have to use varies depending on where Ryder is at, just try different powers. After you have thrown 10 crates successfully to Ryder, CJ will hop off of the train and get back into the truck with Ryder. Note that you now have a three star wanted level, so your next objective is to get to a pay 'n' spray. Depending on how fast you threw the boxes in, you should be somewhere around Idlewood, you'll notice the spray can sign on your radar to get there anyway. Just drive inside to suspend your 3-star wanted level. Note that if you commit any felonies while it is blinking the cops will be right back on your tail, so don't break the law! Once it is suspended, drive calmly, or uncalmly, depending on your style, back to your home in Grove Street. You should know where this is by now. Anyway, once you get there and drive into the red marker, mission complete! =================================================== = Los Santos - Ryder Wilson - "Robbing Uncle Sam" = =================================================== Difficulty: 5/10 Respect Gained: 5 Prerequisite: Beat the Mission "Catalyst" Before starting this mission, you are going to want a powerful gun like the AK47. You can find one in Ocean Docks, which is in the bottom right hand of the map, another is in Blueberry acres at Red County, outside the beer factory, should be easy to find. A third one is in the Muholland area near a store that says, "Roboi's Food Mart". Once you find one and get it equipped with enough ammo, walk into the red marker at Ryder's place (signified by an "R" on your radar). Ryder, of course, wants you to do something drastic, so you are going to go have to rob the military. Anyway, after the cutscene, get in the delivery van out in front of Ryder's and follow the yellow blip on your radar towards Ocean Docks, where you may find an AK that's useful for this mission. It's in the south-east portion of Los Santos, but I'm sure you pretty much already know that by looking at the yellow blip. :P. Pull into the red marker at Ocean Docks and watch a short cutscene of a military vehicle entering the army compound. Get out of the car, Ryder will stay in it, and walk towards the front gate. Shoot the switch there, and then bring out your AK and shoot the guard quickly that is to the right of the gate. Use the auto-targeting feature to take out any other guards that are nearby, as Ryder drives through the front gate and parks at the warehouse. Now get ready, beacuse this part could get hard. I recommend you have armor. Shoot open the lock on the warehouse and quickly use your auto target feature with the AK47 to gun down all military personnel inside of the warehouse. Try strafing and rolling to the left or right while you shoot to decrease their chance of hitting you. I actually made it sound harder than it is, it's easy, but the real part comes now, where you must use a forklift to load 6 boxes onto the delivery van while protecting Ryder from being killed. Whenever you hear a military guard, quickly hop out of the forklift and gun him down to protect Ryder. Other than that, get on the forklift, and the first two boxes are outside of the warehouse, to the right. Follow the onscreen directions on how to raise and lower the forklift. After you load the first box, repeat by heading back to the same place and getting the other box. Remember that you can only load one box at a time. The next four boxes are inside the warehouse. They should be easier. Just head inside, make sure the forklift level is down, drive into the box, raise it up, then drive into the back of the delivery truck to put it in. Simple, right? Just remember that everytime you hear a guard, get out and gun him down. Once you repeat the previous process and get the 3 other boxes in, get out of the forklift and get back into the delivery van. A yellow blip will now appear on your radar, which is a storage garage in Willowfield. Look on your map and plan out the best direction to get there if you wish, and be sure not to wreck your van! Oh yeah, and on the way, there will be two military patriots following you. You can press L3 to throw a crate back at them if you want, though it's very hard to hit them. After driving into the red marker at the lockup in Willowfield, you will witness a short cutscene. Then, drive back to Ryder's place (marked by an "R" on the map) for a mission complete! ################################################################################ # 8. Frequently Asked Questions # ################################################################################ EMAIL ME AT jmiller13x@yahoo.com AND I WILL _TRY_! AND ANSWER YOUR QUESTION HERE! Q: Where is the pilot school? When can I go there? A: Pilot school is not available until you get into the Desert missions. When you are able to do missions for Toreno. On Toreno's 4th mission, called Verdant Meadows, you will have to drive to an abandoned airstrip in the north of the desert. On the mission it will have a yellow blip on how to get there. Before this mission, there is no way of obtaining the airstrip or doing the pilot school. Your objective in that mission will be to head to the abandoned airstrip and purchase it. Q: Where can I find an AK to practice with? A: Assuming that you need one in Los Santos, there are 3 there...that I know of. One is in Ocean Docks, which is in the bottom right hand of the map, another is in Blueberry acres at Red County, outside the beer factory, should be easy to find. A third one is in the Muholland area near a store that says, "Roboi's Food Mart". Q: How do I raise my stats? A: To increase fat, eat food, to increase stamina, work out at the gym, to increase total respect, kill a drug dealer, an enemy gang member, take over a territory, beat missions, work out, do good with your girlfriend, have nice clothes. To increase your lung capacity, practice diving underwater until the air meter gets near empty, then come back up to the surface. To increase your sex appeal, work out and wear nice clothes. To increase muscle, work out. To increase driving, flying, bike, and cycling skill, drive a vehicle, plane, motorbike, or cycle accordingly. Q: What is the shovel for? Can you dig things up? A: I thought you could dig with it at first, but found out that you can't. It is just used for beating people senseless. Q: What is the best way to get money early on in the game? A: Do R3 missions, beat down drug dealers (usually dressed in all black). Q: Can you smoke in this game? A: I thought you could at first, but found out you can't. Sorry. Q: What weapons can be duel-weilded? A: Pistols, SMGs, Sawn-off Shotgun. Q: Are animals in this game? A: Rockstar rumored animals to be in this game at first, but it has been completely confirmed that there are no animals. Q: Where is the import/export garage? A: First you must complete the mission "Customs Fast Track", the import/export crane is unlocked. It's in the same place as it was when you did the mission "Customs Fast Track". If you still don't know where, then go to the docks in San Fierro. You can bring certain vehicles there (noted on the chalkboard by the crane) and get cash! Q: I am currently tagging turf, and I have 41 tags down. I noticed that when i check my game progress in the start menue for 100% game completion, It hasn't gone up by any percentage, it is still stuck at 16.58%. Do I have to tag ALL turfs first for it to register some percantage toward my % game progress, or should each tag count for a small %? Thank you for your help in advance. A: The percentage only appears once all 100 are tagged. Q: Have you had any complaints regarding disk errors? I am about two-thirds of the way through the game, and the disk will no longer read. I restarted a new game , but right after I save and exit a safehouse, there is a disk read error. Is this a common problem, or am I just an anomaly? A: It's the Playstation 2. 999 times out of 1000, it's the Playstation 2, try cleaning it. Q: hi once you reach the badlands it still posible to make gang wars and gain territories cause , there are no more colour blips of territories found in my radar A: Wait until you get to the Return to Los Santos missions, and they will return. Q: A boy at my school says that you can get married to your girlfriend. Is that true? A: No. Q: how do you get loads of people in your gang A: Raise your respect, check to game basics section for more. Q: how do you get a driving licence in this game A: Beat the Driving School, located in San Fierro. ################################################################################ # 12.
