turn undead
Clerics and paladins can Turn Undead.
The affected undead, 2-12 (2d6) in number, will either
run away from the priest or be dispelled into oblivion.
A paladin turns undead as a cleric of two levels lower.
To initiate attempts to turn, the Turn Undead button must
be selected and the only other thing the character can
do is walk around. The chance of successful turning are
summarized in the table below where a number denotes what
the cleric must roll on a d20 or less. A "T"
indicates that the undead are automatically turned, "D"
indicates they are automatically dispelled, while the
cleric is not strong enough to affect creatures marked
with "--". If the cleric is evil, the table
indicates the chances that the cleric can control the
undead where "T" means they will automatically
obey the priest and "D" indicates they will
become completely subserviant to the cleric. "*"
indicates an additional 2-8 (2d4) creatures are turned.
